Sociologist, postdoctoral researcher
Research Associate at Laboratoire Dynamiques Européennes (UMR 7367)
I am a sociologist and my work focuses on drug uses and harm reduction approaches. My work is in the field of the sociology of health and marginality. My thesis concerns the use of substitution treatment in France, Switzerland and Quebec. The comparative component of this research aims to assess the different dimensions of public drug policies according to national contexts. I am particularly interested in peer intervention in Quebec and self-help groups in France. I have privileged the biographical method in order to approach the meaning given to treatments according to the biographical trajectory of the narrators. My work also aims at highlighting the epistemological tensions arising from the confrontation between the different types of experiential, professional and scientific knowledge. It appears that the senses given to substitution are at the crossroads between knowledge acquired in the worlds of drugs and the worlds of care. Currently, I am doing a postdoctoral research at Cermes 3 - CNRS, with Marie Jauffret-Roustide, on the PRI2DE project and the acceptability of harm reduction measures in prison.
