Francis Chateauraynaud is a French sociologist and director of studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He pioneered the concept of the whistleblower in the mid-1990s, and has worked extensively on conflicts and controversies in the fields of the environment, health and technology. He is also co-designer of the Prospéro and Marlowe software packages for analysing long-term critical processes.
