The study is dedicated to the surge of incest testimonies published in France between 1982 and 2021. In the field of cultural studies in History, I study how personal experiences of incest have become written and published life stories in France. I analyse the reception of ordinary victims’ writings by society, and how these testimonies helped build further knowledge about incest. I analyse these texts and recount how they were encouraged and gained a broader audience (through what publishing editors, NGOs, social movements, websites, TV shows, videos…).
