Jeremy K Ward

Présentation

Je suis sociologue et chargé de recherche à l’Inserm (Cermes3, Villejuif). Je m’intéresse à l’émergence de débats publics et aux rapports ordinaires à la science sur les thématiques médicales. Mon approche se situe à l’intersection de la sociologie politique, de la sociologie des sciences et de la sociologie de la cognition et des représentations. Mes travaux ont principalement porté sur la vaccination en France mais aussi sur une diversité d’autres sujets tels que la prescription d’hydroxychloroquine comme traitement contre le Covid-19, la perception ordinaire de ce qui constitue un conflit d’intérêt ou les rapports ordinaires aux essais cliniques.

Depuis 2020, je suis membre expert de la Commission Technique des Vaccinations à la Haute Autorité de la Santé. Je suis aussi membre du bureau du réseau thématique « Sciences et Techniques en Société » de l’Association Française de Sociologie.

Projets en cours

Depuis 2023, je dirige le projet AMèS (L’autorité de la médecine scientifique à l’épreuve des controverses sur la recherche clinique, financement : ANR) qui s’intéresse en particulier à l’impact que peuvent avoir les controverses portant sur la recherche clinique sur les rapports ordinaires aux savoirs médicaux.

Depuis 2023, je co-dirige le projet Icovac-France (Impact de la Covid-19 sur la vaccination en France, financement : ANRS-MIE) avec Patrick Peretti-Watel (Inserm, UVE). Ce projet s’intéresse à l’évolution actuelle des mobilisations et controverses portant sur les vaccins, des rapports ordinaires aux vaccins ainsi qu’aux pratiques vaccinales des professionnels de santé en France.
