Onto the fields of Disease & Social Sciences & Disability Studies, I've been investigating the symbolic representations of Congenital Syndromes and child development. I’m also interested in the conceptual links regarding 'Idiocy' and Mental Disability, as well as the role of Down Syndrome in the history of the constitution of Genetics as a scientific branch in Brazil. Regarding this last one, I'm focused on the association between birth defects and selective abortion due to prenatal diagnosis.
